Faculty and Staff,
We wanted to inform you about significant changes to the California Dream Act Application (CADAA) application and delivery system for the 2024-25 academic year. These changes are designed to simplify the financial aid application process, making it more accessible for students and their families. Here are the details and how you can help students navigate these changes:
California Priority Deadline
California’s financial aid priority deadline for the 2024-25 academic year is May 2, 2024.
Students attending California Community Colleges for the 2024-25 academic year should apply by May 2 and no later than September 3, 2024.
CA Dream Act Application is Available Now
Although students and families can presently complete a 2024-2025 application, it's important to note that the Department of Education and California Student Aid Commission have postponed the release of FAFSA information to colleges until May 2024, possibly later. Consequently, Citrus College will not be able to view or process applications until June 2024 or later.
What's Changing
- The enhancements to the “Better CA Dream Act Application” will have a new format, sequence of questions, and new terminology. More information will be released as we approach December 2023.
- The priority deadline is being extended. Students are encouraged to complete the 2024-2024 California Dream Act Application by the priority deadline of April 2, 2024, to maximize their financial aid opportunities, including the Cal Grant.
